All About Dogs Meeting – rescheduled to May 3rd

May 3 MAC “All About Dogs” Meeting: Dogs Gone Crazy

What is happening to some of our dogs in shelters in MA? How do we measure stress levels? When is it simply too much to incarcerate a dog indefinitely in the name of “kindness?” How can we make sure the dogs in our care receive adequate enrichment throughout their shelter stay? This provocative discussion will shine a light on how sometimes the best intentions – saving a life – can backfire and can cause more harm than good. We will also talk about shelter and rescue adoption policies and how they could inadvertently affect a dog’s chance to “get out.” Where is the balance between trusting adopters and making sure you cover due diligence for the best interests/safety of the dogs and your organization?
